Around those tourist areas, children wait with their guardians on the side and swarm around the people that get off the bus, us included, and plead for a few RMB or change. At times, some of them, disfigured (whether intentionally or not) and deformed, come at you and you're shocked and disgusted - at their sight. But these children don't know anything else. At times they're exploited and used, and god only knows what happens to the money they're begging for.

It's a sad sad thing and at times, your heart might hurt to help them. But you can't. Giving to just one attracts everyone else to you within seconds, hoping for a piece of the pie. Do you blame them? That's all they know. Only that much.
